So i came in from combineing today and realized that my male convict was in this little barrell of mine i first thought he was stuck so tried to scare him out but after further inspection realized the female had layed a bunch of eggs and he was fertalizing they are in a tank with my big female firemouth my juvi jack dempsey and my haplochromis they have there little area DO i NEED to take the 3 out or will they all be fine together? i dont want any of my fish to die i know a few babys might but im talking my other 3 will the convicts be able to kill any of them? because i really dont want to disturb anything in my tank and have to move rocks to catch the fish(dont wanna crush any eggs) any suggestions? PS im moving in about 2 weeks eeeek! wut should i do?!

Hard to tell how your convicts will react to the others. Everytime someone posts a question like this, we can only respond according to the fish's known behaviour.

Sometimes the fish can surprise us all by acting completely opposite from the way we think they may behave. A lot of explanation about how they might behave relies on how secure the fish feel they are, and how secure they think their spawning site is.

The more they feel threatened, the more aggressive they will be.

Most convicts are quite fiesty once they have bred and are protecting their eggs / fry. They will make life for your other fish (even fish much bigger than themselves) VERY uncomfortable.

Just to be safe, I would suggest either removing your other fish (sorry) or seperating them from your convicts with a tank divider.

Just keep on eye on them to see if any aggression breaks out. If it does, then my suggestion (above) might help.

ya I decided to move them b4 i even seen this haha they were constantly fending some curious fish off but its all good now just the 2 cons and the pleco wut do i feed the fry once they are born i read crushed brine

I believe convict fry will eat crushed flake food. The BBS wouldn't hurt, but from everything I've read you'll probably be fine with the flake.
