| Re: I need a fish identified As for the teeth, those are actually used for scraping algae off of rocks. You may get away with keeping them together, but most likely the yellow lab will chase the goldfish a lot, and basically take over the tank, it is doubtful that the goldfish would get killed or injured, possibly stressed to death, or won't get a chance to eat with the more aggressive/faster cichlid, and starve to death.
The other thing is, they like completely different water parameters, african cichlids prefer a high PH, 7.8-8.2, hard water, and around 78-80 degrees, goldfish prefer soft, nuetral water, 7.0ish PH, and colder water, anywhere from 60-75 degrees, and can actually survive winters under frozen ponds.
