| Feeding I was just wondering...I only feed my fish flakes, should I be giving them other things as well. I know many people feed live or frozen foods as well as vegtables and other things. Will my fish be healthy with a diet of only flakes?

| Re: Feeding To be truly healthy they will need a varied diet. For them to live and not be hungary just flake food is ok.
I fed mine flakes, frozen brine shrimp cubes, dried blood worms (these float on the surface like flakes but dont sink eventualy because they dont get water logged ofr some reason so they are really good for hatchet fish), and I also use sinking pellets for the khulie loaches, flying fox and the german rams when I feel like interacting with them. The german rams are very friendly and come right up to the glass and I will drop them a pellet and they shoot after it and suck it up. Then I also give the pleco and the flying fox zuchini. I chop it in half and peel the skin off and use a little fish clip and its hollowed out the next morning.

After all, how would you feel if all you ate for 365 days a year was pizza? It would get boring very quickly... |

| Re: Feeding I feed mine flakes and cichlid gold pellets. They usually have some seaweed in a clip to pick on and I just fed them baby brine shrimp from the lfs yesterday. They absolutely loved them!!

I have also recently began using a garlic additive which I have found easier to add by soaking some cubes of frozen foods (in my case, usually blood worms) in a cup of tank water with the drop of garlic. My cockatoo cichlid is markedly more colorful since I have been doing this and I suggest it for anyone! |

| Re: Feeding What kind of garlic are you guys talking about? Is it a specific aquarium garlic additive or what? It sounds good, I think I would like to try that. Also, I think I'm going to start feeding my angels tubiflex worms on occasion.
