Depending on your budget, there are a number of good canister filters on the market ( as well as some pretty bad ones as well). The below are my recommendations based on experience only:
Highly recommened:
- Fluval - These are great value for money and very reliables
Others to consider:
- Eheim - These have a good reputation on the market and are considered top quality.
** Note: I have owned two of these, and had nothing but problems (Sorry to all the eheim fans out there ....
Avoid at all costs:
- JEBO - Absolute rubbish. It seems many of these are cheap immitation copies of some of the better known brands - in particular they seem to copy alot of the eheim models??
Everyone responding will obviously offer different recommendations based on their own experiences. I'm sure these will vary greatly.
Best advice is to do your homework, visit the stores and ask a lot of questions. Buy the best you can within your own budget
