I just love the orange/black/yellow, discus. It is gorgeous. I had discus before (like your blue ones and angels like yours that i kept with them, your right about it being a challege but well worth the effort.

Here are some pics I took of my Mom's african cichlids.

Aulonocara stuartgranti "Red Shoulder"

Some type of blue cobalt probably a morph.

here are some pics of my Brichardi, they are a common fish found in most lfs and are often put in the peaceful catagory, do not let that fool you, these little guys can put a world of hurt on even the largest fish. my 2 inch brichardi (3 of them) had 15 fish herded into a 2 foot section of my 6 foot tank. They even routinly attacked and won against a 6-7 inch male venustus. The mated pair are extremely peaceful to each other and their fry but any tank mates are quickly shredded or killed. Here they are: Notice the tiny fry in the bottom pic, it is above the rock behind Papa.

The red melon is one of my favs to. Yes it is well worth it but it can get tiring. I do like African cichlids I had some electric blue johanni's (I have for gotten how to spell it but I think thats right) with yellow labs. I really liked them but I wanted to get in to discus it was really sad to see them go.

Thanks!!! Yes, I have 6 of the angels and they just happen to be all lined up when this picture was taken. They all are in the same tank as my discus.

I love that red shoulder GM! I have been eying up a lot of the peacocks lately. I found this guy a month, month and a half ago and couldn't resist:

Then I was digging around on the internet for some more ideas in case I ever bought a bigger tank...you know, the one I promised my wife I wouldn't get...and stumbled across the "aulonocara firefish" and think they might be lovely in my 125 when I don't buy that 210 gallon tank (you never know, she might be reading this). Anyways, I really like this one peacock I have now and notice that cichlidgirl has one too so I had to share.

My P. Saulosi are growing up nicely though. I wound up with two males (out of the 9 I have now):

But I do have one fish that I am undecided upon. For a while, I was pretty convinced that it is a yellow lab, but now I am starting to see some blue peeking out so it could be a male Saulosi that is still incognito:

The good news is that I have two holding females in quarantine right now and I have 8 fry from a completely unexpected batch that have survived in my main tank and are now big and bold enough to be out in the open more and more each day!

Is that vertical barring i see on your suspected yellow lab, mine never showed that. you might be right about it not being a lab.
