| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! It looks amazing, can you get some pic of your frontosa's? I am really fond of them It makes me question making a 200 gallon reef or a 200gallon front colony.

| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! here are a couple more. these are still baby's , there are two sets, one is 1.5 to 2 inches and the other is 1.-1.5. I cant be sure of the varient, i think the small ones are burundi and the larger ones might be burundi also but i think they are some other type, they have a shorter eye stripe and a band accross the nose that is usually seen in zaire types. could be crosses or not, the shop i got them usually does not have hybrids but they never had fronts before so i cant vouch for the breeder they have. They had big ones and little ones in the tank and i knew nothing about them so i just said give me two of each size. now im trying to id them and find out they not only are larger but have different markings. I will have to wait many months to id them i think. until they have adult marking and size.
sorry the pics went all over the place, but they are all there. Im not too good at posting pics yet. My signature is not right anymore by the way, i have them in my 135 gallon in with all kinds of other african fish, right now they get along fine, but if i need to i can put the mbuna and peacocks in my 72 bowfront or 70 gallon, both are not housing anyfish right now, just waiting to fill with fish.lol

| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! Im pretty sure they are burundi the Zaire's tend to have a darker completion of blue than the Burundi's and the ones in the pics seem pretty light but they do seem to have different looking strips than the Burundi's I am use to seeing. They might be a hybrid but what ever they are they look amazing thanks for sharing your pics

| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! They work. To get them to show up on the post you have to load them onto a picture website like photobucket.com (free). Then you click on the little mountain symbol right above where you write your message where you can adjust the font. Then you just put the URL into the box that comes up.

| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! My cute little black cichlid is turning blue. There is no sad bleery eyed icon so the frown will have to do. Knew it was just my luck and that was his juvenile colors. Black is so cool though.
Today
Because he hides so much I honestly thought I was seeing things when it appeared he was changing blue. However he came out tonight and I was a little shocked.

| Re: Show off your cichlid Pics! hello everybody. Just a updated picture of my juvie front in the pic a couple posts back from october. He (not positve but i think might be a male, alpha male in the colony) is growing nicely has nice form and color. He is now 4 inches in lenghth and turning into a regular little bully LOL. Since the original pic in oct i have went from 2 fronts to 6. Here he is look how much he has grown . also look how lighling makes a differerence in the color of your fish. I replaced 2 of my four white lights with marine glow bulbs(I have double bulb light hoods and placed marine glo bulbs in the back and reg white in the front). They are much closer to actual color in natural light with these marine glo bulbs , just one though (when i had all marine glow the tank was dark and the fish super blue, much bluer than there natural color)
I will place dates photo taken at top of each pic.
