Hi ,

I brought 9 barbs (albino , tiger, green ) from overseas , the guy packed them in a big bag , the day after i arrive home i notice skin discoloration and redness on the gills of three of them and what it looks like gold skin on the gills ,someone told me it was due to blushing ,but i suspect that is because of the generated ammonia after 4 hours of traveling in the bag , two weeks have gone by and they eat and behave normally but their gills are red and they have not recover their normal color . i'm afraid parasite could infest mi fish due to that , i'm planning to isolate them, any suggestion on the treatment to follow ?

A picture would sure help!

Red Gills could be a number of things, a bacterial infection included.

Gold skin could be oodinium.

It could also be parasite infection.

Just do not know from the description how to advise you.
