I have a 16 gallon bowfront with an African black ghost knfe fish, an Ellephant nose, two kuli loaches, an octocat and a Rafiel cat fish a rubber nose pleco, and numerus ghost shrimps with fake driftwood and plants but with JAVA MOSS mixed in with everything. I us sand as a substrate and the fish seem to enjoy it just fine. My question....Does this tank sound like good planning or will my tennents disagree with eachother???

well you have quite a badd setup .. i dont mean to rain on your parade tho, but
the african ghost black knife fish, and the elephant nose will together equal about 35" in adult hood .. a good idea for freshwater is 1" of fish per gallon .. it also seems like you stocked your tank with a lot of bottom feeders and bottom dwellers .. this may soon cause aggression, but i would go to the fish store and return the knife fish and the elephant nose, and buy some more community upper dwelling fish, such as 2 giant danios

yes if you can start searching for a 50 gallon tank or plan on returning the mentioned fish.


my advice..go for the upgrade. theres not much you can do with a 20 gallon and you can find a cheap used tank on craigslist.org
