| Isolate a Bully Barb? Hi,
I have a total of 9 barbs in my 57G tank , lately the biggest of them have been chasing the others constantly to the point that they are hiding all the time , i just notice the signs of ich in one of them ,probably due to to the strees of being chase ,so i removed it immediatly to my HT with a little salt . I'been thinking of removing the bully as well to a 8 L tank with aeration only because i don't have a small filter for that one , at least for 4 days until is time for my weekly 20% water change , i will rearrange the decoration to prevent territorial disputes in the future once i bring him back . Can you tell me if i'm doing the right thing here ?
Thanks in advance |

| What you are doing so far is pretty good, but a dominating fish is natural to a point. The ich although, was not caused by stress because really the only way ich can enter a tank is if it's introduced through fish, plants, ext. |

| IMO it sounds like a good plan so far. Try that and let us know how things turn out. We can offer suggestions if that proves to be unsuccessful.

If it is Ich, which is very contagious, you will need to assume that the entire tank is infected. You will need to treat both tanks. There is a very specific salt treatment for Ich. Once you confirm its presence do not be casual with it.
What kind of Barb are we talking about?

| Hi,
Thank you for your prompt reply , the barb with ich is an albino barb ,i have 2 green ,3 ruby and 2 tiger barbs along with 3 big loaches , a rainbow shark , 10 tetras ,1 male swordtail ,6 danios and a huge pleco but they all seem ok .The albino i got out of the main tank , assuming it had ich , no longer presents any symptoms of what i thought was ich ,but i'll leave it in the HT for another week just in case . I will be posting a picture of my tank soon.
thanks again to you all . |

| Thats a little overstocked for a 57g IMO. I would pay close attention to water quality issues.
Extra suggestions everyone?
