At least with the mouthbrooding Cichlids, once the Moms finally can't hold any longer and have to spit into the main tank (if you don't remove them), 99% of the newly spat fry get gobbled up by the other tank inhabitants and only rarely do you have a survivor who manages to squeeze into a small hiding spot in the substrate.
I couldn't stand the thought of that happening so I always removed the moms and stripped the fry and I had like 50+ fry at all times in 2 grow-out tanks and I was sick of dealing with it, so I traded in all my breeding groups and went with my all male tank listed below in my sig.
