Pay particular attention to the very last line on the page.

It would seem that she probably got tired of answering the same questions over and over that were already answered in previous sections of her website and she disabled the email link. That would be my guess. Looking at her site she seems pretty popular and probably used to get tons of email - probably not all about fish either as she is very easy on the eyes, which I suspect had a large part to do with the disabling.

The majority of bettas you buy at pet stores are going to get along just fine with other community fish. The only fish you'll really need to avoid are other bettas(obviously) and gouramis. Bettas are a type of gourami and will usually attack other gouramis. As for the black phantoms, a betta should do fine with them as long as you go with a higher number of them, I'd say at least ten. With a larger school they are almost certainly going to spend all of their time concerned with each other and their whole social structure. They shouldn't want to waste time with a betta. At least, that's the best chance the betta will have with them. It would always be better to go with a smaller tetra, such as neons or glo-lites. No problems should ever arise between a betta and the smaller tetras.

No, the glo-lites just have a stripe down each side that shimmers under light.

Well, Bettas are only agressive towards other bettas. working at a petstore sometimes the bettas get loose in the tanks with other fish, they dont bother them.

As far as the tetra. Tetras are schooling fish, they are best kept in a school of ATLEAST 3, recommended 6.

I think they would be fine together. But always watch a fish when you first introduce it.
