Well I may be wrong, but the female does seem to have a dark spot I noticed. Still she may have always had this spot. That dominant male wouldn't leave her alone for days though so I wouldn't be suprised either way. I was considering the survival of the fittest method though. I am hoping they might hide in the fake, hollow rock I have since none of the other fish have any intrest in it. Though there are fake plants for them to hide in too. Keep in mind that I just don't have the room at the time to take care of 20 or more guppies. Even though I do really enjoy guppies.

They should do ok in a small aquarium until they grow into juveniles, and then you can try to trade the rest in to your LFS for store credit. I have already had offers from the LFS here concerning ours.

I guess I could just see if the LFS i'll start working at tuesday would take them. Though I'll wait till my training is complete.

Well, 2 weeks to the day and we have a new batch of baby fry in the tank! We have babies everywhere now. My brother has decided to keep them all in the main display tank. I plan to set up the 20 gallon long tank that was their previous nursary as a guppy breeding tank of my own.

With so many in the tank it is hard to tell how many we have but its survival of the fittest at the moment. We'll see the outcome when its all said and done.

Hey Aaron..

My wife has a 10 gallon guppy tank, lots of plants

and I lied about it being my wife's

She likes to look at it and pick out the guppies , I get to maintain it.

I am upgrading the tank to a 20 long. My experience has been an "exponential" accumulation of fry. Since I am 50 miles from my favorite lfs, I cull the school by potential color combination then net and release the fry into my large community tank.

It just occured to me that I could on occasion export a "bag o guppies" to folks who want them.
