Plants do not tolerate Salt well so I do not use it.
It will definitely increase your TDS, and because I fertilize daily I really do not need it.
Scaleless fish like cories, ottos, and invertebrates do not tolerate salt well.
There is also a lot of anecdotal debate out there among planted tank folks over the chloride Na
Cl which is chlorine with an additional electron (I think
) causing some problems.
I think like RTR says. If your tank contains only species that benefit from salt, then confirm that and sail on. If not don"t. He does advocate the use of salt for curing certain problems.
