| Re: seaclear fish tank!! Hi Melynda sorry to hear about your water problems. We don't have much info to go on here other than it's a 55 gallon. What's the water like, what kinds of livestock? Feeding schedule...I know Drs.Foster and Smith are good but I am not sure that there would be some kind of warranty on something like a pump that is 5 years old. Can you tell me what makes you think it's the pump? Let us know a little more info so we can better help. Thanks

| Re: seaclear fish tank!! Do you happen to own any test kits? If you can get a nitrate reading on the tank, and let us know what the ppm is, that would help out greatly. How long have these 12 cichlids been in the tank? Are any of them farily new? How often does he do w/c and what is the percentage of water is he replacing into the tank during the w/c? Also, does he ever clean out his filter media, including the hoses that connect to the filter and go inside of the tank. After some months, the hoses start to become filled with algae and the flow of the filter will slow down/work harder to push out water and it will not produce the correct filtration that it should be producing. Little by little, the nitrates will slowly catch up and soon, take over. Just a few thoughts to think about.
