A day ago i purchased a black angelfish about 2 inches in length along with 2 colombian tetra's. The next day i fed my fish frozen blood worms which the tetra's ate mostly, but the angelfish only ate 1 or 2 blood worm's then when the angel tried another blood worm it just spat it back out. The colombian tetra's eat fine. Those are the only fish in my tank at the moment.

The water chemistry is normal:
pH - 7.0
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - very low about 0

I am just a little worried since i just started keeping tropical fish.

I'm curious why the angel isn't eating and if i should feed it something else.

Newly bought fish need time to acclimate to its new surroundings. During this time period little food is consumed by the fish. Since its only been a day or two, there is nothing to worry about. Newly bought fish can take up to a week or even longer to finally understand your feeding process and feel confident enough to go after food. Keep us updated with the fish!

I agree with what Live4fish and would like to add that sometimes fish simply dont like the food,(that happens to me at least) So I wouldn't feed them bloodworms everyday. Not only is variety healthy for them,(in most cases) but it also keeps you entertained! I actually made a little ecxel spreadsheet and put in what I to feed my tanks each day of the week. (ive got 4 tanks to feed, which all have a slightly different diet, so it can get rather confusing.) however that may be a little over the top.

Hmm ok, thanks for the replies , so is there any other suggestion in what the angel might eat?
should i buy frozen brine shrimp?
i have flakes ill try that tomorrow
and i have pellets

The angelfish looks healthy just swimming around, occasionally he hides because i think his shy, but he hides at 1 particular spot: at the back behind the plants at the top near the surface of the water. it looks like he getting air, do you think i should get a air stone to help oxygenate the tank?
Sometimes if i come he just swims around the front to show off. He has a bit of a personality which i like even though most angels do that.
He sometimes tries to attack or peck at his own reflection at the sides of the tank, is this a normal thing?
Also how often should i feed my fish since they are only small, 1 or 2 times daily?

Anyway enough rambling and thanks for replies and future replies fellow FTF members
