So i recieved a 125 gallon fish tank from a person. and i love fishies but im not sure where to start or what i need to do. i took a few pictures to show what i have which is the following

-125 gallon fish tank 6' long
-stand with cabinets
-2 emperor 400 filters (1 is missing the arm) and i have no cartridges for either
-3 under gravel filters
-1 pump thingy?
-fish capture net

can somebody give me a brief idea on what i need to do to get started. im trying for now to stay on a tight budget due to the fact that im in college and i gotta eat somehow.

iv seen these big tank with a smaller one underneath with some hoses connectting the 125 to the smaller. what is this cause i do have extra tanks to do this if it helps

May I offer you great articles and links located on this site under the link "Articles". if your thinking about doing a cichlid tank then theres a great link that gives you all of the information of what to do. Also, read the link for cycling water or water chemistry. Also, I am also a student and let me tell you that you will need to set time away a few times a week to work on the tank. Further, the beginning stages will be costly but once everything is bought, theres nothing to buy (well, theres always something). Goodluck and reply after you read the articles and theres something that does not make sense.
