Can I put fish in immediately when using Amazonia?

Hi all,
I've had a 37 gal tank for about a year. The substrate sucks and I'm going to switch to Amazonia. I've searched threads and can't find anything about starting up with Amazonia. I'm concerned about just laying the substrate, filling the tank, and throwing the fish back in. Does the Amazonia need to soak for a while, does the tank need to cycle, is there an ammonia spike...? I would like to get the fish back in asap of course but I don't want to hurt the little guys. Any help would be greatly appreciated (especially by the fish). Thanks

Chris

I have never heard of that, what is it.

I'm confused. Tank is established and you are changing the substrate? Tank has been dry for a while?

Check the sticky post on information needed to get help.

Ah...found it. ADA (aqua design amano) sells it. Wow it is really pricey.

Looks ok to me, but I would do some reading as it can and will have an impact on your pH KH and GH. I would take a small amount and put it in a container and check the parameters. You will need to make a decision about how drastic or rapid the changes are and if the fish can handle it without a re acclimation period.

I have no experience with the product but it looks to me like it will require some rinsing, just like fluorite.

Interesting stuff...I will look forward to your future posts on the subject.

Regards,
Jay
