| Re: Sugestions on stocking a new 60g Well I have two suggestions.
1) You can do a discus tank, these are very pretty fish I think! But they are also very expensive and require special parameters, so I suppose it may be annoying.
2) Make a varied community tank like I did. You can look at my list below. I stayed away from the typical "ugly" "boring" fish like the guppies, mollies, goldfish, rainbows, etc, etc that everyone always seems to buy.
I went ahead and looked at all of the neat looking fish like the hatchets and khulie loaches. I wouldnt recommend the khuli's though. They are nocturnal from what I read and see in my tank. So they are boring. But very cool looking both in color and wiggling around the tank at night.
I would recoment the german rams as they are very pretty in color. Go to drs foster smith and look them up in the livestock section they have a great picture of them in there. They are under new world cichlids. Make sure you get 1 male and 1 or 2 females though. The 2 males will just pester each other. But they are very fun to watch catching sinking pellets
The flying foxes are invaluable bottom feeders. I have such a clean tank because of them. All they do is constantly scavenge my gravel for me, but they need lots of food and are also algae eaters so give them some zuchini too.
Anyways I will stop because I am getting carried away. Just buy what you think looks good as long as you know they will get a long decently.
