Too much Ammonia

I just setup my new 75g tank. Got some Ammonia to cycle the tank...

Ended up putting to much in. It's reading like 9.0

Can I just leave it and let it cycle? Or should I remove some of the water and try to get it around 5 like the Guide on this forums said.

I would do a water change and try to lower it. I think an ammonia level that high might make it difficult for the bacteria you're trying to grow to survive.

Sorry Mekks..been there done that. It will not work. I had to change water several times to get it low enough to begin the cycle.I think it was almost two months before it cycled completely and I had my first fish. However, patience does pay off. I have a mated pair of Angels that have their first batch of eggs!

yea =( i did a 75% change today and it seems to be around 5.0 now. Going to leave it for a few days and test again. then maybe do another water change.
