| Don't worry about it...in fact, I think it is a completely honest mistake since that website does little to advertise the fact that it is a forum. Quote: |
they are listed as a "Ideal tank mates"
| I don't really want to knock Drs. Foster and Smith too much because, as a store, I do like them....however, on that page they also list a 30 gallon tank as being the minimum tank size for these fish and IMO, do not do much to imply that the standard would change as the fish matures. In fact, I think most, if not all online LFS severly downplay the eventual size of the larger species in order to increase profits from people who only have relatively small aquariums.
IMHO, you might find a lot of advantage in using the "rule of three", which states something along the lines of "if you can find the same information from three completely unrelated resources, there is a good chance that it is trustworth info/advice. |

| Re: jimcalpin's 55 gal freshwater community Ah Jim C. I am so sorry. He was a really nifty looking little fish. Any clues on what might have happened? Do I remember someone saying he looked a little thin or did I hallucinate that detail? Anyway, I sure am sorry.

| Re: jimcalpin's 55 gal freshwater community I too am sorry to hear about the loss of your fish. Although impulse is an aquarist biggest downfall (myself especially) researching to see if the fish would be a good fit within your tank is almost a must. It avoids future problems and it gives you an opportunity to see what that species is supposed to look and act like. Although it is always sad to loose a fish IMO it's better to do it on another’s watch and dime.
