| Re: Oceanic glass tank My 90 gallon tank is an oceanic and my 125 is an All-Glass....which I believe are both owned/operated by the same parent company. Anyways, I really like my 90 gallon - seems extra sturdy in its construction and has thicker glass than any other tank I have owned (which is an option at least a few companies offer).
I agree about the glass/acrylic tank though. I scratched the inside of my 125 already and am done using any type of scraper (I use one of those scrubby pads like you might use for dishes). My acrylic tanks are all 20 gallons or less, but I have scratched them too, I think it is just a little easier to fix a scratch in an acrylic tank. Obviously it would depend on where and how bad you scratched either tank but all you have to do is be a little bit careful.
Believe it or not, when I was gone for about a week when I got married, some neighborhood kid...who was about 4 or 5, which says alot about his parents....found his way into our apartment and pulled a 10 gallon acrylic tank off a book shelf and that sucker shattered all over the place. I can't believe the kid didn't get hurt. |
