It is hard not to feel criticized. But I feel I need to ask these questions before " getting my feet wet". The LFS told me that I would feel exactly like I do now if I go on these forums.
One forum says, " get the bigger tank, you'll have less headaches in the long run. The only maintenance difference is the amount of water changes and how much water you take out."...
Then I come here and I'm told to start with a smaller tank because I am in over my head.
I don't understand

I am trying to avoid problems from the start. I was going to get a smaller tank, but was told I would only be able to do a few fish. The LFS and the forums told me to go bigger. Bigger in their eyes was better. They said the more water..the better chance of success since it can be corrected should something happen. The less water...the easier for it to crash.
Then on top of that, I do not want to invest hundreds of dollars in a small set up and then upgrade and spend more money again. I would rather get what I need now, even if I have to get the 75 or 90 gallon and just put 3 fish in it.
I don't mind and am able to purchase WHATEVER it is I need to be successful. That includes bringing someone in for the maintenance so that I can learn to do these things. From what I hear from EVERYONE, it does not take a rocket scientist to have a successful fish tank. I have read hours of books and I feel that now it is all about the hands on. I feel It just takes someone who cares and will dedicated to some time and patience for the love of this hobby.
I do appreciate the help. But now I am left more confused and will have to maybe move on to the next place to get more advise considering some may feel I am doing the wrong thing.
Thanks all
