Who`s eating my guppies?

I have recently just in the last 2 days lost 5 guppies 3 males 2 females. Just vanished; Poof. My question is who is responsible, I dont think clown loaches will eat other fish.Perhaps my silvertip shark Catfish, He seems to be getting bigger; Also my giant danios seem fatter. My Bala shark is very docile I really dont think its him + i dont think his mouth is even close to big enough. Who`s Eating My Guppies?

Re: Who`s eating my guppies?

My bala sharks would accidentally confuse guppies for krill and eat them....their mouths can hold more than you think...also, clown loaches are carnivores....and semi-aggressive....don't believe me...come watch mine for a day. they are beasts and tend to fight alot with my plats and other small fish and each other, usually over food-even have one that will get an attitude with my HUGE severum (it's a 2" loach). How big are the fish in question??

Also, guppies will eat each other....if one nips at another til it dies then they will eat it up like a noodle....yummy. Don't know about the danio, never saw a danio eat anything but a flake, but I can't rule that out....hmmm....hope you find the culprit....and punish him good...fear the hand fishy, fear the hand....

Also, guppies can jump, at least mine could...I lost several to suicide...found them dried up and crusty behind the tank...poor honeys, wonder if the lack of water on the other side of the tank wall was a surprise for them....stupid fish....guess that taught them....

good luck!

How big is your bala shark? Mine are very peacful but if I put a very small fish in there w/ him, he might eat it. I also agree to what FB said, about the guppies nipping @ each ohter. And then one of the bigger fish might come in and finish him off.

Check inside the filter. under the thing that holds the sponge. Its not the Shark, I repeat, Its not the Shark. Ive tryed blaming mine several times, and every time, it was not him. Back a few pages are two topics about fish Mia and awol, I got rid of 2 fish and found out it was the rope eel. RJR had the same problem. It became a murder mystery that Agatha Christie her self could not have solved. Who are the other suspects? Its more than likely the most innocent looking one.
