Re: Test Kits

I used the API for a long time till I kept getting inaccurate readings(figured out the test kit was over 2 yrs old) After that I switched to Tetra Test. Its a little more work to get a reading, and the nitrate is not included with the master kit, but all in all I have found it to suite my needs a little better. Not to mention it doesnt come with glass tubes that have a tendency to break in the sink if not put up right away.
I cannot tell you how the ph test is in this kit as I always use an electronic ph meter.
I also find that matching colors is alot easier than API, I dont have to second guess the color by finding another lighting source.
All in all I would buy the Tetra again.

Re: Test Kits

Quick dip 6-n-1 test strips is what I use. A little tough sometimes to know which color matches up the best. I like the fact I get so many results w/ the one dip. Wondering if one is more accurate than another. Anyone ever try the suction kits that sit in the water? Usually only test one or two things.

Re: Test Kits

yeah the dip strips can go bad with just the slightest moisture in the botttle. they are no good for specific readings. i woudl go witt the API master kit, thats what i upgraded to and love it. very accurate

Api is the best one that I have tried, The tetra test that gm333 mentioned sounds good.
