Clean and Fill problem

Today was w/c day. I got it all going, and I noticed that the vac is not really cleaning the bottom of the tank very well. It wont pic up fish poo, though last week, it cleaned the tank very well, or so I thought. I am running 3 filters right now, one is rather small, its just in there to get the bacteria for when I start the new tank. Something is just not right. It quickly vac'd out 30%, and refill was a breeze, but I really dont think the 55 gal is all that clean. Im thinking of cleaning the bottom with the old vac, then refill with clean and fill, that dont make sense to me.

Test with old vac and see if it picks up any more than the new, if so i would use the old.
Your new vac is the pyton right, if so you can still use it to refill.

edit: I used the old one, and sure enough, it sucks up way more junk. shoot!! now what?

This may sem like alot of trouble but it the only idea i can come up with.

Since you already have the pyton, use the old vac to vacume the tank into a bucket then use the pyton to suck that water so you don't have to carry the bucket.

Great idea Bun!!! thank you!. Now I'm already for the big day "w/c day" next Sunday.

hint for weaklings ^^^^^ and use warm water to fill the hose, its much easier to handle.

Just be careful you don't fill the bucket faster than it drains!

Oh the Python, unscrew the bottom and take it off, make sure there is no gravel in there that would be stopping water flow, then turn both the hot water and cold water on high when you clean the tank, making sure there are no kinks in the tube. It should go a lot faster then your other vac.
