This may be a stupid question but I better ask anyway. I need to do a 15% partial water change in my 75gallon. However, the saltwater that I have been storing is about 4-degrees cooler than my tank water. Do I have to poor this water into a bucket and then get another heater to put in the bucket to bring the temperature up? Or is there a better way? The last time I did a water change which was also my first time, I was able to put the water container outside in the sun to heat it up. But I know I can't always do this, especially in a few months from now. Thanks.

Others may have a different view, but for a 10 to 15% water change I don't think this will create too much stress on your fish if you add the water slowly over a period of about an hour.

Buy a heater and warm the water up to the tank temp.

I always use a python for water changes
this allows u to add it as slow as you want simply by adjusting the valve on the python and of course the water pressure on your sink
I add straight cold water in the tank and i unplug one of my hang on filters and fill thru the filter so the water gets filtered before entering the tank.I really let it trickle in slow--I mean like 10 gallons an hour---

I do not add any chemicals to my tank-I have a filter on my sink that filters excellently -and of course the python has an areator in it so it removes alot of chlorine and chloramine anyway
I really think the fish could't care less about the temp.when u add it this slow it has plenty of chance to get heated up

Don't think a 15% change will affect the temp at all. In fact, the thermostat in a heater is usually accurate to 1 maybe 2 degrees. Therefore a 4 degree difference will not affect a thing.

I make 20% changes weekly and the temp never moves.

It is up to you!!
