I have a 30 gallon with one adult female green terror cichlid, and I don't know a hundred or so fry that no one seems to want

. I keep getting this film on the sides of the tank, and well pretty much everything in the tank. It is lots of little white dots?? and is slimy and you can watch it kind of move with the water movements. I scrub it off with the algae wipes but the next morning, its covered again. Does anyone know what this is, why its there, and how to get rid of it??? I tried to research it and the only thing I found that was close to its in appearance was nitrifiers? I don't know my water reading at this time, last month everything was good, alkalinity was low and hardness of water high, but other than that fine. And yes I had the film then, got rid of it, got it again, etc, etc. I changed the water yesterday, scrubbed the sides, and this morning, you guessed it, covered again. I could try to take a pic if someone thinks it would help them but I am not sure how it will turn out. Please help cause I have no idea and most of our LFS are less than helpful if you know what I mean, they will prob just say buy this and this...
