Help!!!


I have a 30 Gal tank
3 Small plants i picked up at petco as testers to see if they would live.
And a bunch of plasic decorations.
2(55w Compact Flousent Light)10K
A Regent Filter ment for a 20-30 Tank
A Heater
and 1 Guppy 2 Poka dotted fish not sure what they are a Red Mollie And a chinise alge eater....

I just got My new light i was running 1 25 watt bulb.
and my plants were starting to get a few brown spots on them but now they seem to be doing a little better but I dont have a CO2 set. or nothing.. i am planning on getting Some CO2 in the tank but what else do i need I run my lights about 8 hours a day.?

Hey Brandontyme, welcome to the forums!!

I think you need to be aware that you have a lot of light there at 3+ Watts per Gallon. and a very small plant mass...This is a perfect scenario for major algae problems. I would cut my light hours down to the minimum you can get away with say 6 hours.

I think it would also be worth your while to visit our articles section and read about cycling a tank.

Well thanks jay. And im actually Planning on turning this tank into salt. Just like my 100 Gal thats already Salt.

But the tanks been up around 7 Months so i think its Cycled.
And that way i have so much light...
