I started up a 20 gallon (long size - I think it's 30" x 12"), cycled it with Bio Spira (works every time) and added 15 albino corys and 2 apple snails. Not to long after that I bought 12 green tetras and 2 glass fish. Probably sounds overstocked - you should see the rest of my tanks. This is the ONLY tank (I have 3 other bigger ones) that grows no algae on the glass. The lighting is the same as with all the other tanks, time on & off same, weekly 50% water changes. Could it be that the albino corys are that efficient? If so, I guess I'll buy more for my other tanks.

Anyone of you have no glass algae growth due to corys or otherwise?

If any credit is given look to the apple snails first since they are voracious plant matter consumers. That doesn't fall into the corys capability range.

I don't have the size of the other tanks for direct comparison but the 20 long has only a 24" bulb included. That means six inches of the tank has no direct light over it. It's also a short tank so it should get less light to glass contact from the bulbs it does have compared to say putting the same top on a 29 gallon.

Algae itself is actually good for the tank. In addition to being a food source, it locks up nutrients like nitrate and other stuff improving water quality.

the corys may be helping but where is ur 20 i have noticed that if a tank doesnt get any sunlight just artifical algae struggles

I agree with BJP in that apple snails seem to do nothing but eat IME with them. Having two of them in your tank will ensure that you have a very steady supply of apple snails though!
