Cleaning Silk Plants

I have a few silk plants that look like they have what looks to be algae growing on them. My fish like to nibble on it, but I don't like the way it looks. So my two questions are:

1) Should I attempt to clean the algae off of the silk plants, taking a small food source away from the fish?

and

2) If so, what's the best method of cleaning silk plants?

You can put an algae eater in there such as a pleco and they will keep it down but not all gone. I like a little in there, not much but some. It helps in my book. To clean, I have a toothbrush that I purchased just for cleaning things in my tank. Using just tap water, I scrub with the toothbrush until it is all off or most anyways. When it gets on your tank, you will have to scrape it with an algae scrapper.

Thanks for the toothbrush idea. I've had the aquarium up and running for about 4 months now, and I haven't had a problem with algae growing on the glass.

Don't worry, it will. I hope to enhance mine and get it to grow in my new tank. None of my tanks show any sign of algae but I wish they did.

most of the time you can just give it a good rub with your hands and it comes off
