| Water Testing Do the saltwater testing kits work in freshwater aquariums? Do they have the same parameters?
Thanks
Dawn

| I agree.... I have a master test kit for my salty tank...hagen/nutrafin brand, which is different than yours I know....which comes with color charts for both fresh and saltwater. You may be able to download some color charts for your specific test kit...or order them if you have to. The pH is the same(possibly low range depending on what your tap water is...which mine is in the low range pH and you have similar if not exactly the same water as I do) as well as the Gh and Kh tests...usually. I am sure there may be some differences depending on brands or I would at least not want to make the assumption that every test kit would be the same. |

| API has a "Master Freshwater" and a "Master Saltwater" test kit. Looking into the wrapped boxes, the only difference I see, is that the Freshwater kit has one extra bottle for testing the higher pH used for saltwater.
From what I can tell, they both look like the same exact bottles in each kit.
I personally use the Master Freshwater kit for testing Fresh and Saltwater and the only thing I don't care for is that the ammonia seems to be a little bit off when I'm at 0. I've tested with one other kit and when the ammonia was at 0, it read high also? |
