Hi I'm new to the fish tank experience
I've spent alot of time reading up on this new hobby
I'm having an oudda control problem
I have done my best to follow all instructions
but... I'm having a nitrite problem it just passes .5 within 3-4 days to approx.7 ppm freshwater I use tap water and tank buddies tabs to de-clorinate and rid the water of metals etc and I do a clean up of the gravel every 2-3 days on bottom.. I bought an air stone 9" long and a lil t and I have a mini airstone under a sunkenship and a nice airation unit so there is plenty of air, as well I bought a 10-30 gallon filter for a 10 gallon tank and I have 2 fish I've learned not to buy Megla-mart fish as they are sickly fish 98% failure rate I have had a few fish friends stop by and they can't figure it out still I have a nitrite problem any advice the fish aint happy and I'm changing 50% of the water ever 3 days

First off Welcome to the forum!
I have a couple of questions for you.
First when did you set up the tank?
Second what is in the tank and how many?
You say you clean the gravel every three days? If so wait two weeks before cleaning the gravel again. It sounds like your tank was/ is still cycling. Have a look at this thread about cycling it should help out a little. http://www.fishtankforums.com/fishtank/freshcycling
