| True cyanobacteria is really nasty stuff, and no Ottos will not eat it. Some researchers suggest it produces a toxin which is why it is avoided by critters.
I remember years ago when I was starting out I had a really bad case of cyano, and my wife complained about the smell permeating the room.
Plecos, young ones, and young algae eating fish start out eating a lot of soft algae, but as they get older they loose interest. This is probably due to the fact that green algae is not very nutritious plus it would take more than you can grow in a tank to feed a 6 inch pleco. Plecos need substantial vegetable matter to survive and quickly give up on the soft green stuff.
