lighting

so i have had my 90G for about 8 months or so. 1 bulb in the hood when i got it. it went out yesterday so i thought what the heck i'll buy two bulbs for it. they are both 48" 40W bulbs. i got them home and apparently only one of the slots works. i am planning on keeping this tank my cichlid tank for a long time, so i plan on getting a new hood. Now for my question. What's the difference in all the lights. How do i know what kind of hood or canopy (is there a difference?) i should purchase. I don't have plants and i don't plan on gettin any. I have black lava rock substrate with a few pieces of large lava rock, a few misc rocks, and a large piece of driftwood. I have 4 electric yellows, 4 kenyi, 2 red zebras, and an albino of some sort, plus my new pleco. my whole goal in the tank is purely to blow minds that there are beautiful fw fish that are brightly colored. so basically i just want to show off a bit with these bold fish. whats the dif. in lights and how do i know what i should want?

look for lights that have a peak in the red part of the color spectrum. i believe those lights may be what your looking for. they will show colors better. don't quote me on it though. do a search here in the forum or on the internet for CRI (color rendering index). that may be able to guide you better than i.
