| ICH? Hi, I just joined, but I would like to get to the point. : ]
I recently purchased a kissing gourami, and it about a day later it got little white spots all over its body. It of course ended up dying, but then the my other kissing gourami died, and it had no traces of the white spots.
Now, a couple days later my Pink Convict Cichlid is showing signs of white spots. Ugh, what do I do?

| Re: Ich? Hello OnefishTwofish. Sorry to hear about your problems. I am sure someone will be along to help from freshwater. This thread will be moved to the freshwater disease sub-topic so please look for your answers and help there.
I understand you are upset over your losses and in quick need of some help, therefore it would benefit all if you could remind us about your tank. How big, number of fish and water perams.... Thanks

| Re: ICH? Hey onefishtwofish..welcome to our forum
Sorry for your problems, it sure sounds like ICH to me.
Nowadays we know that ICH is easily and safely cured using salt (NaCl) regular table salt and elevated temperatures in the tank. Only in rare circumstances do we need to resort to dangerous chemicals.
I urge you to read the article on ICH and follow the instructions for the salt/heat treatment. I will give you a link.
Please post back and give us the information Judge asked for and any questions you might have. http://www.fishtankforums.com/fishtank/ich
Regards,
Jay

| Re: ICH? I know nothing about your (type of) fish,
Multiple icks are cured with a little grey box called clout, you can also do a gravel treatment. Also if your 'doin stuff, turn the lights off 1 to 3 hours in advance 2 minimise fish stress. that causes it Quote:

| Re: ICH? Sorry but I must disagree. Ich is caused by a o parasite that is well known and understood. It has a definitive life cycle |

| Re: ICH? Hey Gotmykoipregnant
I have noticed that a number of your posts contain information that is outdated, incorrect, or just flat out incorrect.
Please do not take that as a personal criticism, only an observation that the data base you rely on is corrupt.
