Question African Cichlid Scales Falling Off

Last week I purchased a young OB Peacock. After putting in the tank I noticed that he wasn't really active. I thought it could be that he was just getting used to things. I did notice that his scales were not as shiny as the other fish. After two days the scales on the back half of his body looked like they were flaking, it almost looked mold like. He hasn't really eaten. The water conditions are all good, and all but one of the other fish are good, the one just seem a bit less active. I have medicated with "Seachem, Metrnidazole" but I am not sure if that will do the trick. Oh yah, I did do a 40% water change today. Does anyone have any suggestions?
