Disease??

One of my 5 goldfish died last night. I took him out of the tank to be alone because I noticed he was not nearly as active as the others. Also, he had a white fuzzy looking film over him/her. Any ideas on what that could be? Is it a disease? Should I be treating my other fish for something? I noticed my big goldfish was losing some of his scales, but it appears that he is not losing any more now. He may be an older fish too, not sure.

Hey Wyapit - sorry to hear about your troubles.

I have to admit that I do not know much about goldfish but I would like to point out that a death is not always going to be associated with an illness/disease or even old age. For that reason, it would help to know a little bit more about your situation. If you are willing to do so, check out the 'sticky' article in this sub-forum and try to answer the questions that most closely pertain to your situation. This should help get you headed in the right direction toward making an attempt to figure out what exactly is going on. Ok?
