The vet told me that it had disease brought on by the plant and that I should remove any snails as well.... I told her never in my life had I had snails and that the plant was sold to me by the company as snail free and I hadn't seen any. She said that she got Gill Flukes (Dactylogyrus) and Brain Flukes both caused by parasites and more specifically brain flukes are caused by snails
. I saved one of the fish in the tank and the other sadly has passed on. Dactylogyrus are better known as Dacs.
