bottom feeders dying

Hi all. New to the site but have maintained a tank for 3yrs now. Lately each time I add a pleco to the tank it does fine for about 5-7 days then I will come home and check on it and it will be belly up. I have tried chinese algae eaters but same thing. All my existing fish are doing fine but need a cleaning fish. Also, I have added a few other type fish(platys and bloodfins) and they are going strong. I have had my water tested and all categories are testing within limits. I have non aggressive community fish in my 55gal tank. I have a bubble bar so oxygen is good. I had issue with ammonia and nitrates but have had that under control for over a month. There is no signs of diseases(as stated others even new adds are doing fine) I am not overstocked.... 4 blackfin tetras, 1 molly, 2 platys, 1 sword, 3 bloodfins, 1 scissortail . The local pet store is at a loss as to why. Any help???

Welcome to FTF!! What are you feeding the bottom feeders?i'm guessing their not getting enough food.. you could try them with mushed peas, and/or algea waffers.
