Maybe this will be the one that has enough strength to hold on long enough for you to experiment. My first one lingered for like a week or so. The others were rapid. I'm starting week 4 tommorow with my two in qt.

I still expect this is an internal issue that's now stressing the fish enough to show external symptoms but anythings worth a shot at this point. This one might have enough fight to make it. It would be nice if it did.

Transferred to a 29 with Marayn 2 Next 8 hours will tell all. Think good thoughts.

Last night the moor looked rough. It's getting lighter in color and it's eyes were cloudy and had a lot of rednessat their base. I didn't think my other treatment was working so I set up the 29 gallon tank, took water that I had set aside, and made the switch (doing my best to match temp, ph and salt content). Also got the Medigold food. Added Maracyn Two. Fish wouldn't eat and was occasionally darting around.

This morning, still won't eat, mostly hanging on the bottom, breathing looks labored. I've got no more tricks up my sleeve.

When you're sure you've nothing to lose there's always the extreme.

Mix 1/4 cup of salt into 1/2 gallon of warm water well. Let it cool to room temperature.

Add the fish for ten minutes or until it turns over whichever comes first. Return immediately to the tank.

Sometimes salt dips help where other attempts have failed.

Thought about that.

Came home tonight and the fish was almost crawling on the bottom, dragging its tail. Went into a corner and seemed to be convulsing. I immediately changed 50 percent of the water with like water. Fish settled down a bit. No ammonia or nitrite present. ph is around 7.2. Temp is around 75.

Added the second day's dose of maracyn 2. Fish isn't eating so I can't give it the medigold that I bought. Truthfully, I have a jar of water in the freezer right now because if the fish goes nuts again, it may be suffering too much.

Well...it's Saturday morning and Othello is still kicking. He's been fairly quiet on the bottom, moving around here or there, especially into the airstone stream of bubbles. (last night I hooked a larger airpump to the airstone to try and increase O2. Seemed to improve things.)

Anyway, this morning, did a 12 gallon water change and administered another dose of maracyn 2. Pristine water is what I'm shooting for. I'll check in later but wanted to let you know what was up.

Well....fish didn't make it. Sad to say because I tried everything. Leaves me with just my betta.

I really appreciate all the advice and input. No doubt, next time I'll QT new fish. Learned a lot.
