I don't reccommend shrimp pellets because I think that is what Walmart feeds their ottos and chinese algae eaters and they try to suck on the guppies or whatever is in the tank. But that's Walmart for ya...

I would stay away from too much meat based foods myself and go with more veggies and algae based suff. You can use anything from peas, to cucumbers or lettuce...just make sure they are cleaned well and not full of pesticides or things like that. If you are in a pinch, then I would say it is better to feed something versus feeding nothing and risking the other fish. Any herbavore based fish is not going to do all that great with a completely meaty diet.

I would add one or two algae tablets and probrably after lights out since the chances would be better for a nocturnal pleco to have the most chance of getting at them. If there is some left in the morning, then reduce the amount you put in the tank.

when i had my pleco (hes gone now =( (see my other thread "algae control")
i often worried that he couldn't reach the algae wafers that i put in (he was big, 7-8 inches) i think the best solution, if u ever have worries, is to leave a section of gravel clear large enough for the pleco to easily fit, and drop the wafers there

o btw u probly wont have this problem its just that my 30 gal tank used to be almost completely full of rock formations, driftwood, and a couple large amazon swords, but thats just my tank (the setup of the tank was recently changed, and now the wood is gone, but im probly gonna replace it pretty soon)
