Do you have any snails in your tank?

Are you sure that this is not eye flukes? Does the fish have white spots in his eyes at all? If left untreated, this can lead to pop eye like symptoms where the eye will bulge and can actaully fall out or be lost.

I know this is not a funny situation for comptonsk8er but Tommy when you said the eye can fall out or be lost my mind flashed to the pirate in the movie pirates of the carabean with the eye issues......sorry.

LOL, I just watched the second one and it was great, but ended very poorly in my opinion.

I think that this is a pretty common issue that a lot of people look solely to pop eye medications for which do not really help at all. The chances are good that a fish can live well without an eye, or even two in some cases, because in an aquarium, they are not in a situation to be singled out by a preditor becuase they are weakened and an easier target. I once had a peacock eel which lost both eyes somehow and it was absolutely fine, however in the case of a fish like that, which is nocturnal and relies on things other than sight usually, it is not as big of an issue as some fish might be faced with.

i was thinking it could be from the lack of light but that would only mean dilated pupils so im guessing its from water realated issues and when i stop the treatment and do some water changes it will get better
