Ich and Turtles

My brothers gouramis have ich, and they're in the same tank as a small Red Eared Slider. I am removing the turtle and starting the salt treatment now. I was just wondering can turtles get ich? I think it is only fish, but just want to be certain. Thanks.

Also will the salt effect the turtle or can he stay in the tank? I took him out as a precaution.

I've housed turtles in the salt levels commonly associated with ick treatment many times.

Ok well that's good. So I guess the little guy will be ok in there.
