| Spots on my featherfin synodontis I have a big ol' pretty featherfin synodontis about full grown at 8 or so inches. He looks good, but a day or so ago I notice on one side that three of his dark spots had white spots in the dead center. It is hard to tell if it is a scratch, a hole or an egg from one of my olive nerite snails. It is just so weird that it is dead center of his dark spots and no where else on him.
Bx is normal, appetite and color is good. I don't know if I should try to catch him for a closer look or what.....
Anyone out there with experience with this fish.
(edit) as I have been looking into this, I actually think I have an Alberti Synodontis. I was able to get a pic of him this morning.
On his adipose fin there are several dark spots on the most forward spot there is a small white spot, dead center. Just below and in front of the previously described spot is another dark spot on his body with a whitish spot, again dead center. There is a third spot that you cannot see from the pic but it is the same - a dark spot with a white spot dead center. This spot is located at the tail end of the adipose fin right at the crease where the fin connects to the body. There is a fourth spot on the caudal peduncle that has a whitish mark but it is somewhat elongated. Other than that there are no other markings on him anywhere, not even th other side at the same but opposite points......too wierd......anyone with any ideas??????
