help my 2 goldfish! So I have a Chinese Redcap and a Chocolate Oranda. Both are still quite small. Now, I had a large Chocolate Oranda that had the same problem as the Redcap, but this was awhile ago and I couldn't figure out what it was then either, I ended up returning him and he passed away the day after (tried anti fungal and super ich cure).
The Redcap has white cotteny looking fuzz on his cap, he is fairly active but has started spending some time in the corner of the tank at the bottom. Which is where my Large brown oranda had spent his time after he became ill.. or rather, his illness became worse. I called a few pet stores, some said to use ich cures and some fungal cures. Neither of these worked for the large oranda, and neither of these are working for the redcap either. I don't know what is wrong with it, it hasn't gotten cotten like sports per say but it is definately looking like mold growing in the crevices of his brain textured cap. I don't know what it is, and no one can seem to help me so I am asking you all if you ever experienced or know of another person who has had this problem.
Now, for the little Chocolate Oranda. His fins seem pretty frayed at the tips. We though finrot, but I am not sure. He also has a torn part of the tail that we think occured from being in the hospital tank, because we thought we would try some cures, now I can see red spots on his tail and I am a bit worried that we hurt him somehow by trying to move him from the Hospital tank to the main tank. We have 6 fish total, the others are not showing any sign of anything (calico telescope eye, black moore, red and white oranda and another chocolate oranda) When we had separated the two fish intot he hospital tank they got into a depressed like state and stopped eating and swimming, both spending their time at the bottom of the tank looking scared. We put them back into the main tank and they are back to their normal selves but with the same problems. I don't know what to do... We are first time fish owners and I love them dearly I am just at a loss! |
