k where to start.I have had a 30 gallon tank for about 10 months. it currently consists of 3 serpae tetras,3 micky mouse platys, 2 scissortales, 2 red swordtails, a pleco, 2 cat fish, a bala shark, and 4 guppies....anyway about a week ago i lost my female swordtail. dunno what happened she was on the ground dead. she seemed fine but i guess not. then a couple of days later one off my female guppies stomach went concave and its fin lost its color and died. also around that time one of my platys lost alot of weight( he used to be so fat). he is still around though.... so i decided to do a water change. before the water change i had two lovely beta fish but died right after. well when i cleaned my fish tank, i added nitraband, chlor out, and someother medication, but the next morning i realized that my betas had cotton mouth. i saw one as it was dying and the other died the next morning and had it spread all over her face.

Before they died, i bought furan 2 to get rid of cotton mouth. i also bought jungle internal parasite med. cuz i believe that the guppy and platy and possibly the swordtail had an internal parasite. as of now noone has died but a few moments ago i realized that a scissortail was swimming sideways. he only did it for about a minute and has stopped.

I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what could be happening and what i should do. i used up the internal parasite bottle as instructed( expect i did not use pepso food as instructed...couldn't find) and i did two doses of furan 2 but not 4 as instructed because the fish with cotton mouth are out within a day and i need another box of it. i also just bought stress coat and poured it in right before the scissortail was swimming sideways. the platy is still thin and thanks for the help and for readin the very long thread lol.

Hi DJ. Let me see if I have this. You have 16 fish in a 30 gallon? That seems to be a bit of a heavy bio-load. Next you did a water change, added Nitraband, chlor-out and "someother medication". Then added Furan and some internal parasite and a little stress coat for good measure? Sorry, I am not picking but I did not find where you gave us any water perameters. Did you check you water before adding this chemical blitz? Please provide more information about water condition, do you perform regular water changes, and if so how often/how much? We would like to help you but without more information it would only be a guess.
