Monkey Man Zero

I finally purchased a Mandarin yesterday. He looks very hardy and fat, but when I put him in my tank, he hasn't left the corner. I should have plenty of food with 200 pounds of rock, but he will not head for the rock. I am starting target feeding today, but was wondering if this behavior has been seen before.

They are very shy fish and may take time to move around and eat... He will. Give him a few days. Ive had mine for about 8 months now and he acted the same way yours is for three of four days. Dont worry.--->CBR
ps Target feeding may prolong his acclimation process. It startles them and they may not get comfortable.

Thank you for the advice. I should have been more patient. On the advice of my LFS I moved him to my quarrintine tank while I try to capture my Damsels.

Their theory is that he was afraid of them. The Yellowtailed Damsels were poking around, but the Domino's would run them off and protect him.

Anyway, I have rock in my quarrintine and am adding pods everyday for him to munch on. The Damsels have been a pain for me since day one, so it will be good to get rid of them.

If I can't get it done in a week, I know I need to get the Dragonet back to the big tank and the abundant food supply.
