Re: tang problem?

I cant think new spots on fish are a good thing? um dont know alot about tangs myself
but what are you water param's like?
and what is your maintence routine in the tank?
how big a tank what is the setup?
and who are your tangs buddies?
all these are questions that with answers the gurus of FTF can help you care for your fiined friend.
I expect they willbe chiming inshortly but these arethings they will ask.

aside from that I hope your tang is ok and wish you good luck

Re: tang problem?

nyrmel hit it right one the head. with addition of how the fish is acting... normal, breathing heavy, hiding, etc. alittle more detail will help us all try to figure out what the problem might be, and also a picture would be a big help.

I would guess its a bacterial infection, but thats simply by your comment of a red spot. but more detail will help us figure out a plan to bring the fishie back to good heath.

Good luck!

Re: tang problem?

He could have gotten stung by your lionfish. Redness would mean irritation to me. I would monitor the situation closely, especially at night.

It could have just been an accident....

hrm good call brad, google wasnt my friend on this one... when i searched red spots it came up with bacteria infections, but irritation seems more like it. and with a lion definitly a possibility.
