| Re: tang... i think she is about to die. I'm sorry, but it sounds like the end. A fish laying on the bottom is never a good sign. I'm no expert in disease but the first thing I would look up is bacterial. I've learned my lesson from introducing ich into my tank and quarentine all fish now.
I'm not sure if this site will help, but you can check it out if you want. http://home2.pacific.net.ph/~sweetyummy42/disease.html

| Re: tang... i think she is about to die. It doesnt sound good, this is the one reason that bothers me about saltwater fish. Alot of fish perish because they dont acclimate well to aquarium life. Not much you can do about it but hope it feeds after captivity. I will only purchase a fish from a store if I see it feeding. If not I will not buy it, although sometimes that is not even enough. My new rabbitfish I brought home a couple of weeks ago is eating like crazy, but I think he has stomach parasites. He is not getting full in the belly like he should. I have been feeding with garlic in hopes this will help get rid of the parasite.
Try to find a shop that seels live brine shrimp and try feeding this to him. Sometimes this will help get fish to eat. |

| Re: tang... i think she is about to die. Thats too bad about your naso. I bought one about the same size as yours, and he died also. The whole thing was kinda strange. He was good, swimming eating, then one day, poof dead.
I bought another, but went with a baby one. He was really small. Maybe 1.5 - 2 inches at most. Added him to the tank on 9/17/07 and he is stil doing great. He is a little shy. But he is slowley growing. Not sure how long it will take him to get to full grown status. Guess I will find out in due time.

| Re: tang... i think she is about to die. Sorry to hear about your loss. I just lost a fish too. You can do everything right and STILL have them pass. If they can not make the transition to your tank. You would think that coming from some plain boring tanks in MOST of my lfs, to our mature aquariums, they would adjust rather quickly and be happy. Sometimes its just not the case, depends on each individual fish.

| Re: tang... i think she is about to die. ya thanks yall. it happens though i guess. it was from petco, so im not going with them again, im gonna drive the extra 20 mins (1hour 15 min drive total 1 way) to get my fish for now on. but ya it sucks. guess my damsels and shrimp are gonan be by themselves for a while, atleast till february becasue im going to europe. thats the problem with saltwater, you just never know, and since they are so fragile you get no guarentee like you would for freshwater. oh well lessoned learned for now on im going to make the lfs tell me about that particular fish, make them feed it, and watch it for a while and examine it alittle harder. |

It also helps to have the lfs quarantine the fish for you if they will. |
