| My clown :/ Hi i just woke up at 6:04 am because i have a stomach virus or w/e its called and when i turned on my room light a little bit of light goes into my fishtank well i checked it out as i always do and my oscelaris clown or how ever u spell it is chopped up on the side of him like right where his stripe is. i came down to 2 things, a. The arrow crab which seems to be some what aggresive towards n e thing thats close to him and im not sure what he does at night , b. the obvious one hes got some sorta sickness? the little cuts look as if hes been attacked but im not sure whether he has or not... so i just figured id come on here to ask y'all so please any ideas? :[ |

| Re: My clown :/ Can you post some pics? Crabs are opprotunistic feeders, they have been know to attack sleeping fish but without seeing some pics it is hard to tell.

umm... my sis is in orlando...and her cameras with her... this looks exactly like whats on my clown just my clowns a little deeper

| Re: My clown :/ I had a similar problem with the butterfly I had. Mine did it to himself scratching on live rock. Keep an eye on him and if you see it scratching then it isn't just an injury, but something wrong with it. My butterfly didn't last a week after I noticed his damage.
You may consider setting up a hospital tank and using some antibiotics to prevent infection.

and also in the hospital tank should i put LS / LR or just water? or just LS should i get another filter for it / power head etc.. etc.. what all should i get because i might be going to my LFS in an hour or so ill buy all the stuff now.

| Re: My clown :/ Well i have solved the problem.... this morning i found my clown half eaten and in my arrow crabs claws -.-.... im not a very happy camper im getting rid of this stupid fu***** crab. |

| Re: My clown :/ Crabs are very opportunistic creatures. They will eat, or try to eat just about anything they can get their claws on. I am shying away from crabs and using mostly snails in my new setup. Snails are peaceful.
Sorry about your loss. My clown mysteriously died over night aswell, it happens....
